sell it as a playdate ... meet at the park ... tell them it will be FUN!
Since there are no artificial lights there is nothing to scare your child. Kids have quirks. I try to work with them instead of trying to eliminate them. Grown-ups have issues ... we work them into the photos, too. l am not trying to make you something you are not. The beauty of a photograph is the fun that was had while making it - I capture that ... the memory of the moment.

bring favorite toys ... bring snacks ... play during the session!
I spend time at the beginning of the session getting to know your child or your family. Often, I ask children to tell me about what they love and if they have a special toy or lovey with them we talk about that and snap some photos. I share the images on my camera with the kids ... and sometimes(especially with older children) even let them snap a few photos - with help of course!

I think I am different. I think you will, too. I capture life and the moments that happen. I don't pose children and ask for a smile. I let them be themselves and catch the smile ... the laughter ... or the frown in the moment.I am an artist. I capture sincere, honest moments ... that create heirloom photos and images we can all be proud to show others.
